Porto may 2023

Firstly Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums we know.💕

Well Porto, what an extraordinarily beautiful and photogenic medieval city.
We arrived yesterday afternoon and quickly came to grips as to where are living.

Our apartment is on the river and we have a magnificent view of the well known Dom Luis bridge from our window.

We are spending most of the our time walking the streets, getting lost and found again.

Had some obligatory beers in Ribeira square, just down the street from us and enjoyed some people watching.

Onto Sunday, woke early to this:

Now, out in search of an open coffee shop to start. Found one!!

High recommendations and thanks to the crew here!

Oh, and some pasteis de nata to go with the coffee.
I intend to have one each day, they are magnificent.

Now suitably fuelled, we walked to clerigos church and tower.
250 steps up to to enjoy fabulous views over Porto.
Funnily enough, going down was a piece of cake.

To the Se cathedral to collect our pilgrim credentials for our camino, which we will begin on Wednesday.

All very thirsty walk, so we walked over the top layer of the bridge to the Via Nova de Gaia area, which is on the other side of the river and opposite the Ribeira in search of a cool beverage.

I feel it will again be a  pretty early night, still waking up super early😮‍💨
