Firstly, Happy birthday father green. Little FaceTime call with the birthday boy over our breakfast, which was lovely. Now you may recall we did a training walk on Monday out to Foz do Douro. But today we started for real. Caught the 500 bus to matocinhos to begin. This part of the walk is called the Littoral, not sure why. But is arguably not seen as a ‘ proper ‘ Camino route. We walked right next to the beach along boardwalks, it may not be legitimate but it is certainly spectacular, little windy though. Caffeine after a couple of hours and on on…. Trying to have a little break every hour or so, just for 5 minutes. Made it to Labruge by about 1pm and our recollection of those sore tired feet came flooding back. We are now 10 years older than the last one Camino.. Staying in the S Tiago albergue, a Donativo albergue, which for a true pilgrim you pay what you can afford.
