Porto may 2023
A simple day today. An early start this morning for a practice training walk out to Foz do Douro on the coastal route out of Porto. Really nice just been beside the water for a while. Not too far only about 7 kms and then we came back into Porto on one of the historic trams. It was nice to get out of the chaos of central Porto for a bit. We passed under another impressive bridge, Ponte da Arrabida. Allegedly people choose to climb this one voluntarily, no one is making them….. Came to the Pergola da Foz, which is 1930’s colonnade. It’s lovely to see but not quite as long as I had thought it would be. Always bigger in the photos.! All the same it was nice to see. No one will be surprised when I say that Stuart couldn’t leave the beach without getting his feet wet, bit chilly apparently. That’s NOT us sunbaking, by the way.!!
